Hello! Here's what we're up to today:
- Silent reading
- Checking in
- Review of Assignment 1, Writing Tips, and Rubric
- Time to polish Assignment 1 - note that I've created an Assignment on Teams (due at 3pm)
- Peer editing of Assignment 1 - remember to document evidence of feedback, for the extra point.
- Try to do this digitally if you can.
- With paper, try not to touch, but read, and offer notes on another paper. Remember to use hand sanitizer before and after.
- What you're looking for:
- Spelling and grammar mistakes
- Follows the writing tips
- Follows the paragraph structure
- Starts off with a clear argument.
- Examples support the argument
- Conclusion has the same idea as the topic sentence, but in different wording
- Finish with a compliment sandwich - one good thing, a question, and one good thing
- Looking ahead (sorry for the information dump you're about to get, but I believe it's better to give you a complete picture. Also, we tend to get our work done early in English, rather than later)
- Daybook
- Checking in on Project 1. How do the first two texts connect?
- Description of Test 1
- Description of Project 2
- Sign up for Project 2
- Distribution of novel (if you want to read ahead - we start the first day back)
- Prep for remote next week
- The schedule
- Note "Discussion" Channel
- Assignment questions channel
- Instructions will be on the blog and in the "General" channel
- First lesson may be bumpy - I've never run a class online before, so I appreciate your patience
- Checking in channel - I'll be posting a check in every day. It's entirely optional, but I'd appreciate if you pop in 2-3 times a week, just letting us know how you're doing.
