Jan 14, 2020

Hello! Here's what we're up to today:

Face to Face

  • Silent Reading
  • Checking in
  • A bonus project:
    • We’re starting to wind down New Media 10, and next year, there’s a good possibility I’ll be teaching New Media 11. Offer your thoughts on what should be in the course (consider the six categories of English: reading, listening, viewing, and writing, speaking, and representing), and justify them. Up to six points will be awarded, which will be applied to any project in the course that you’d like. Due by Tuesday. Here’s the rubric:

      Beginning - 3/6

      Developing - 4/6

      Applying - 5/6

      Extending - 6/6

      Some recommendations are provided.

Each category has an appropriate recommendation.

Each category has thoughtful, specific recommendations. Justifications are provided.

Each category has multiple thoughtful, relevant recommendations, with links. Justifications make a strong case.

  • A note on time management - over the next few lessons, you'll have more spare time than normal. You're expected to use this time to:
    • Complete your P5
    • Complete your Independent Novel Project
    • Complete any missing assignments (see Teams or ask for a My Ed check)
    • Redo assignments you're disappointed by (especially the larger projects)
    • Start researching for next week. What are some Fake News or Conspiracy stories that you may want to learn more about?
    • The bonus assignment
  • Interview time!
  • Remember to hand in your project by tonight at 7pm, if you're being interviewed tomorrow.
