Hello! Here's what we're up to today:
Rotation 2
- Lesson with Ms. MacPhee
Rotation 1
- No lesson today!
- A small update: Please complete your practice paragraph by Thursday, and come by 133 during your Flex Time. I'll be in class, and I'll be able to give you some focused feedback.
- Checking in - How are you feeling today?
- Discussion question: Choose one of the prompts below. Respond with a clear, persuasive answer, a specific example, and an analysis of that example. If you want to use this example and expand on it for your practice paragraph, you may.
- How do you pronounce GIF?
- Is a hot dog a sandwich?
- Does pineapple belong on pizza?
- Teacher response:
- Pineapple not only belongs on pizza, but it is the greatest possible ingredient society has ever added to a dish. A significant reason for this is because of geography: while pizzas origins are Italian, pineapples originated in the Americas. This matters because, by combining them, the pizza not only has a remarkable blend of savoury and sweet, but it also shows a respect for Earth's rich diversity of food options. (Note: I've written a clear answer, a specific example for support, and I've explained why that example matters)
- Before tomorrow, aim to have half of your paragraph for Thursday done.
- For tomorrow, come to the online lesson at 1215. We'll be covering important tips for writing, and I'll show you an example of a paragraph.
