• A good question doesn't have a clear correct answer. (This is why we've been practicing question-asking for your presentations)
• Can take a variety of different forms:
• Is it right that...
• Why is...
• How does the novel...
• How to create a good thesis:
• Should be debatable
• Should be provable
• Should be relevant
• Should be clear
• Examples:
• Question: Were Elsa and Anna's parents good people?
• Thesis: Elsa and Anna's parents were neglectful role models, who taught terrible lessons to their children.
• Question: Why does Shrek use so many cultural references?
• Thesis: Shrek uses references to fairy tales, popular culture, and movie tropes to appeal to older audiences.
• Question: Is Scar right to try to take over the throne?
• Thesis: Scar is justified in taking over.
