English 12

    • Double checking speech topics

  • Time to work. Your targets:
    • Finish your rough draft by tomorrow
    • (Wednesday is Independent Novel project)
    • Use Thursday to practice your speech
    • Friday is a work period to catch up on what you need
  • Checking in with each student and co-marking the Reconciliation assignment
  • Reminder: tomorrow is the deadline to hand in missing work. If you're not planning on meeting this deadline, tell me today.

    • Your speech - what is your topic?
    • Advice on tone
    • Example from the teacher
  • Instructions for video mark
    • Each group is given a mark out of 6.
    • Multiply it by the amount of people in your group.
    • Reallocate the marks in a way that feels fair.
    • Note: there needs to be full consensus if there is a change, with no coercion.
    • If you're changing the mark, justify it on the back.
    • If there is no consensus, another option is to accept the mark as a group, but individually you may come forward and vouch for a higher mark, not at the expense of the group.
  • Tomorrow, have your Independent Novel Project complete
    • Reviewing details
  • Tomorrow, come to class with some notes on how you'll write the speech. Your goals for the speech:
    • Half complete by the end of Wednesday. It's possible I won't be here tomorrow.
    • A rough draft complete by end of Thursday
    • Friday will be time to practice the speech
