 Hello! Sorry I'm not there today. Here's what you're up to:

English 9

• Silent reading (The Hate U Give) for fifteen minutes. By tomorrow, have chapters 8 and 9 read.
• Practice quiz response (see Lesson Notes example from Oct 27 for guidance)
• Consider the passage on page 69, from the very top, to the word "Momma" at the bottom.
• Identify one literary term, offer an argument, and analyse it. Your response should be roughly a half paragraph
• Hallowe'en activity
• Listen to the "Monster Mash," and follow along with the lyrics
• Freewrite response (15 minutes), answering this question
• The "Monster Mash" tells the harrowing tale of a surprise dance (or flash mob?). What happens after the song is done?
• With remaining time, feel free to either prepare your quiz response, or read ahead in the book
