Hello! Sorry I can't make it today. Here's what you're up to:
English 9
- For the first thirty minutes of class, play one of the games created by another student. Please try to play a different game than you did on Friday.
- After you're done playing, take ten minutes to write a short response. This response will help me provide an assessment for each group. Your response should answer these questions:
- Whose game did you play?
- What were the strengths of that game?
- How can the game be improved?
- Do you recommend I do a board game project for English 9 next year? Why?
- For the final 30 minutes, please practice your speech with three other students. Remember to consider the speech rubric.
- You may also use this time to redo old assignments, or complete missing work.
- Speeches will resume tomorrow, along with any missing videos.
English 8
- For the first twenty minutes of the class, consider this question:
- We've now completed almost all the projects of English 8. Write a response offerings answers to these three questions:
- What project do you most recommend I keep for English 8 next semester? Why?
- What project do you most recommend I change for English 8 next semester? Why?
- What project do you most recommend I eliminate for English 8 next semester? Why?
- The remainder of class is time to work on your speech project, which will resume tomorrow. During this time:
- Edit your written speech. Remember that a well-edited speech is part of a good mark. Feel free to consult with the TOC on what you wrote.
- Prepare notes for your speech. Remember that a cell phone is not ideal for your speech.
- Practice your speech with at least three other students, and consider the speech rubric as you do so.
- You may also use this time to redo old assignments, or complete missing work
- (Optional, if needed: get a class copy of "Twelve Angry Men" from reading room. Ask for volunteers to read roles of Jurors 1 to 12, and try to read through the first Act.)
