Hello! Sorry I couldn't be there today. Here's what you're up to:
New Media 10
- Note: I'll be taking down the photographs, because I didn't have time to get around to marking them yet. I'll be doing that over the break - my apologies for the delay!
- Reminder: After the break, you'll be writing an essay analysing editorials for their use of logical fallacies and cognitive biases, so today's lesson is to lay the groundwork for then.
- In groups of 3-6, create your own bracket for the cognitive biases sheet, by asking: which is the most powerful? As a group, decide which one ultimately is the most powerful.
- In a written response (about half a paragraph - to be handed in tomorrow), offer your own reflection: which cognitive bias do you believe is the most powerful? Why?
- If there's time at the end of the lesson, turn your attention to Assignment 2 - the Independent Novel Project. Consider the following questions:
- Whom will you work with for this project?
- What will your focus be?
- With remaining time, read your Independent Novel
English 8
- Today is a work period, to complete your Assignment 5, which is due tomorrow. Be sure to double check your final response against Mr. McLean's Writing Tips.
- Tomorrow, we'll have time for me to check in on people's responses, in case there are last minute changes that need to be made.
