May 21, 2024

Hello! Here's what we're up to today:

EFP 12

  • Takaya is Tomorrow!
    • Meet at the front doors at 8:30 (seriously. 8:30. In fact, make it 8:20, for those of you who have trouble with mornings)
    • Prepare for possible rain, pack food and a water bottle
  • The Braided Essay
    • Create a plan for all two or three strands you'll be using in your essay. It doesn't need to be complete yet, but there should be an overall picture that is clear when I check in on Friday.
  • The Creative Assignment
    • Begin a brainstorm for how you plan to represent the novel visually. I'll check in on your plan on Friday
  • Read ahead to the next section - Daniel Gonzalez. We'll talk about today's section then, and do the missing presentations as well.

ENG 9 - AM

  • Sorry I can't make it today! Student-led discussions will be delayed until Friday. We'll keep our current reading schedule.
  • In groups of 4, find Act 3 Scene 3 in No Fear Shakespeare. Choose characters, and read aloud the MODERN ENGLISH version to each other.
  • Conduct a freewrite of 10 minutes (hold on to what you wrote, to show me), based on this prompt:
    • You sit down with an idiot who thinks they're a genius.
  • With remaining time, read ahead: 3.4 is for Friday, and 4.1 is for Monday
  • With additional remaining time, start the page of notes you can use for the in-class paragraph.
  • With additional additional remaining time, get together with your groups, and begin planning your performances.
