    • Today: Prep for Q1 and P1 / Debrief with Toni
    • Tomorrow: Q1
    • Thursday: Time to write your P1
    • Friday: Peer review / Quote Integration / Works Cited / Rubric
  • Prepping for Q1
    • Review of literary terms
    • Review of texts
    • If you require accommodations of any kind, please let me know today
    • Note: I'm not great at math, and I got the value of Q1 wrong. I'll likely also be increasing the value of P1.
    • Example of a quiz response
  • For Thursday
    • The best way to prepare is to come to class with a plan for your paragraph. That means:
      • Knowing the text(s) you want to use
      • Having an amended thematic statement ready (this can and should fluctuate even right up until your final copy)
      • Knowing the three examples you want for support
    • Mr. McLean's Writing Tips
  • Circling back to A2. Take some time to discuss your ideas, and share with the larger class.
  • If you didn't give back A1, please do so now.
  • Heads up on the novels: Would you prefer Kite Runner or Great Gatsby to start? Quick vote.

    • This is our first interaction, in terms of marking. As I said before, let me know if you're feeling disappointed, and we'll make this a dialogue.
    • You have the right to a challenge, as well as a redo. Come talk to me about how that works.
    • My writing sucks. Sorry about that.
    • The circles/underlines means there's a mistake there. I'd like you to try to figure out what the problem is first (it's usually a comma), and then come ask about it.
    • English and "Low Floor, High Ceiling."
