  • Checking in
  • Contextualizing where we are in the course: The Calendar.
  • Touching base on your Independent Novel Project: How's your book? Do you have a plan for whom to work with?
  • Returning books.
  • Discussion: When it comes to media, what are you curious about?
  • Quick definitions:
    • Persuasive techniques are tools that are intentionally used to convince someone.
    • Cognitive biases are ways our brains distort information we take in.
    • Logical fallacies are mistakes that are (often) unintentionally used in an argument.
  • A note on the tools we're about to discuss: they can be used to reinforce oppressive forces, or resist them.
