Hello! Here's what we're up to today:
English 9
- Checking in
- Update: I've pushed back the due date for Assignment 3 by one day, so that I can finish marking your Assignment 1 for tomorrow. A3 is now due on Wednesday
- This week is Truth and Reconciliation week. What do those words mean to you?
- (Block 1: It might be worth keeping an eye on this story, for when we read Persepolis)
- Recapping Assignment 2
- Time for Assignment 2. Details to remember:
- You'll be showing this in class, along with a written response.
- What exactly is synthesis? I'll be looking for evidence not only that you understand each others' novels, but that you can explore the importance and meaning of those connections. For example:
- Lord of the Rings and The Hate U Give both explore who has power. Synthesis would dive into what power can look like, and why how it can affect those without it.
- Let me know:
- Where you're at with your book.
- Whom you're working with.
- What your plan is.
- If you can finish it in time.
- Tomorrow, we start literary terms and short texts
